A. there are wax removal kits that you can get at your local drugstore,, they work pretty well. after you do one, you may want to put some ear drops like sweet oil in your ears. also, you can buy a pair of ear candles. they will help clean out your ears and then you can unroll them and see what came out--its cool.

Q. What do a Digital Camera and Earwax have in common? All I have so far is that they both protect you from intruders (a security camera, and earwax trapping foreign bacteria and viruses). It is a strange topic, so be creative!

Does it disturb white people knowing that blacks can produce light brown earwax, while whites have red earwax?
Q. I have less earwax pigmentation than my white boyfriend. I also have less tongue pigmentation than him. Isn't it funny how Nordics often produce dark brown or red earwax while West Africans produce bright brown or yellow earwax? I mean you would think because Nordics are supposed to be so pure that they would produce pure earwax. Black people, who have brighter earwax than white people.

A. Oh my gosh, now I have heard it all. Depends on each man. If a Black man or a White man has ear Problems the earwax will be darker. If either man does not have problems with his ears, the earwax will be a normal light tan color. Why would you even think of a question like this?

How do I remove large pieces of earwax from my ear?
Q. Whenever I get sick my ear for some reason builds up earwax really quickly. I normally go to the doctor to have them remove it. However, I don't have health insurance and I don't want to pay just to have them remove wax.The earwax isn't small pieces that can be flushed out with a bulb and warm water. I was looking into ear picks/ear spoons. How effective are they with my situation? Also, how effective are ear vacuums?

A. I have the same problem. In the shower tilt your head to the spray and let your ear fill up with the hottest water you can stand. Let it sit in your ear with your head tilted for a little while and drain. Be careful to let the water gently flow in and out of your ear. If the wax gets compacted your screwed. The idea is to soften and rinse it out with the hot water. A sock full of rice stuck in the microwave for about 45 seconds and pressed on your ear will also melt the wax so you can drain it out.

How do I get earwax out of sheets?
Q. This might seem like an odd question, but my baby gets a lot of earwax sometimes, and she managed to get it on her crib sheet. Will it come out if I put it in the washer on a cold water cycle? If not, how do I get it out?

A. I agree use warm water and perhaps pretreat with a little Shout or other stain remover just to get the yellow out.

Q. He will lick my ears when I sleep. He has knocked over the bathroom trash just to try and eat spent Q-Tips. As an experiment, I put one finger(without earwax) in front of his nose and he was bored. I then dug in my ear and put the finger in front of his nose and he went hogwild. A. I actually read an article about that once. Cats determine the nutritional value of food by smell. Earwax is a mix of body grease and dead skin cells, which is 'nutritious' by the cats standards. Earwax also smells fairly strong, making it more attractive to the cat. Your cat just thinks it a nutritious treat ... and since cats have a fairly limited sense of taste, he will never know how nasty ear wax tastes.

How do you remove earwax from clogged ear?
Q. My left ear is so clogged with earwax I can't hear with it. I have used earwax removal kits and have tried to clean it out but nothing is working. Does anyone have any ideas other than going to the doctor, obviously I know that is an option but I am looking for something I can do at home. Thanks!! I wanted to add as well that the earwax that is coming out is black. I don't know if that means anything.

A. Yeah that happened to me a couple of years ago. It hurt badly and I couldn't hear at all. I tried all the debrox and peroxide mixtures. They didn't work. Go to an Ear Nose Throat guy. That is really the only thing you can do. They have an air hose that will suck it out of your ear. It is black cause it has been building up in there for so long. What the dr. took out of my ear was sooo disgusting. It was a GIANT chunk. I was like, gross! No wonder I couldn't hear.

Is there any easy way to get rid of earwax?
Q. Every couple months my daughter gets serious earwax build-up that impairs her hearing. Is there a way of safely getting rid of it without going to a doctor?
Asked by toughtess - Sun Jun 3 11:38:21 2007 - Other - Health - 5 Answers - Comments

A. Using Q-tips is actually not a good thing to do it can push the wax farther into the ear and cause a further build-up of the ear wax and a blockage of the ear canal. You should probably go see a Dr and talk to her about using softening drops in the ears. The Dr may also use a little "scoop" to get the wax out and if that doesn't work she may lavage the ear with warm H2O and peroxide to get the wax out. It is often times better to start the softening drop before the Dr tries to remove the impacted wax, as it makes it a much easier procedure. I know you didn't want to go to the Dr, but I have seen harm done when people try to do it them selves, especially in children with their little tiny ear canals that can be easily irritated… [cont.]

Is it possible to do something to increase earwax?
Q. Lately I seem to have more earwax than usual. The weather has been yo-yo-ing lately and my sinuses are going crazy? Is it possible that my sinuses are somehow affecting the amount of wax in my ears? How often should you actually clean your ears? and how do you know if they need to be flushed? I have heard that earwax buildup dulls your hearing or can cause ringing. I have heard the same thing about headphones though and I do listen to my ipod alot. Could my ipod usage be causing more earwax somehow? Or maybe it's my job. I'm a csr. I spend all day on the phones with a headset on. I'm so confused. Someone help.
Asked by winchestersgirl - Sat Mar 24 14:02:41 2007 - Other - Health - 3 Answers - Comments

A. loud music (or loud friends) gives me earwax - i guess to protect me. headset could be a bit loud too. also if you've been scratching or cleaning it roughly with earbuds it increases. if your hearing feels dull or your ears feel/look full of wax you could get them flushed (soften with oil for a day or two, then get a relative to squirt with a syringe of water - or ask the doctor to do it for you). no particular frequency, it depends how quickly the wax builds up.

Asked by the asker/teller - Sat Apr 11 17:27:11 2009 - Other - Health - 1 Answers - Comments

A. Can buy some Debrox (or equivalent) at the pharmacy, and a soft bulb syringe for extracting the wax. Put the debrox in your ears twice a day for 3, then on the 4th morning, can flush with the syringe. Put warm water in the syringe and lean head over sink. If it is the right ear you want to flush, lean right side of head over sink, direct syringe into ear canal, and squeeze warm water into canal. Do this until a ball of wax falls into sink. then do the left side. Dry your ears real well. The only way that I know of to avoid this is to not get ears wet. I would also talk to the pharmacist, and see what he recommends.

Is it weird that I like the smell of my earwax?
Q. I'm serious about this question because some years from now, I had a dare from one of my friends to smell my earwax. It was a bit childish but we couldn't do anything while waiting. Since then I became addicted (not so much) to the smell of my earwax. Is that weird? It helps cleaning my ears. Well, I was commented by someone that my ears were so clean. I think that was because I usually pick my ears. Was my question rude that it lead you to give rude answers? Pls. No rude answers. It's ok if you say it's weird just don't give any offensive statements La Sora

How to unplug earwax build up?
Q. OK first ill state the title is a little misleading. About a week ago i accidentally clogged my ear with wax while using a q-tip. Over the past week i have been using an ear flushing kit which i think has made my hearing significantly better. Problem is that i don't really know what my 'normal' hearing is because i got used to the hearing impairment. I was wondering if there is a sure way of knowing that i've unclogged my earwax build-up so that i've reached my normal hearing level again.

How do I get really deep in there earwax out?
Q. Hi, I have earwax thats really deep in there, I tried qtips hardly gets anything out, and when I yawn or blow my nose I hear crackling, its so annoying and can't wait ot go to the doctor, I went about it once before but was scared (it was water being squirted into my ear) so my mom (I was little) had to take me home. How do I get the wax thats way deep in there out?
Asked by houseofmizzi - Wed May 23 21:04:51 2007 - Other - Health - 9 Answers - Comments

A. do NOT use qtips-they will only pack the wax down. first go to a pharmacy and get an ear syringe and some sweet or mineral oil. go home and put a drop or 2 of oil in your ear. make sure it runs all the way down the ear canal(lay down on the opposite side for a few minutes) then block the ear with cotton. leave the oil in your ear for 2 or three days. it will be softening the wax. then take the ear syringe and squirt comfortably warm water into your ear. the force of the water going in should dislodge the wax and wash it out.

Can earwax squirt out and cover a fly that has landed in your ear?
