what will adding petroleum jelly to my paraffin wax do?
Q. i just bought some paraffin wax from Michale's. i wanted to use it as sculpting wax. i heated a piece of it... and it just isnt the right consitency. it's a lot like taffy. i need it to hold detail very well, but it doesnt seem like it will.if i add some petroleum jelly to it, will it be more like... clay? will it be more able to hold a lot of detail?

A. Paraffin wax is too brittle to use like clay, you can use it to carve things into. And yes, I am absolutely sure you can mix petroleum jelly (vaseline) into molten wax, I've done it. It will make your paraffin wax softer and more moldable, though I am not sure how far towards really moldable that will go, just give it a try with a small amount. But then you don't want it too soft, because then it won't hold its shape very well. It also sounds to me that you are trying to use the wax much too hot. You should be able to mold it when it's about handwarm, if you get it too hot it will just be very sticky (and may burn you as well). You can try getting some cold wax to the right temperature by warming it up in warm water. If you can find… [cont.]

A. hi paraffin wax is used in manicure & pedicure u coat the hands or feet in rich moisturising cream then paint on the warmed wax then cover & wait for bout 10 mins. u can use different types of wax in your pot if u can remove the pots that hold the wax otherwise it would get messy removing hair removal wax from your pot, u usually have different wax containers that sit into your wax heater. u cannot remove hair with parrifin wax

Where can I find soft paraffin wax?
Q. I'm newly in the fire-breathing business, and I've been using other incendiaries to breathe fire, but I've heard from several others in my business that soft paraffin wax (liquid) is generally the best to use. Does anyone know where to buy it? Can I get it at Wal Mart? And how much does it approximately cost?
Asked by SE - Mon Feb 15 01:08:07 2010 - Performing Arts - 1 Answers - Comments
A. Yes, you can find it at Walmart. It's usually labeled "Lamp oil." Cost is a few bucks for a 32 ounce jar.

A. It depends on the type of heater you have. I'm not sure from reading your question exactly what size it is, but most professional waxes come in 400 gram tins (14 ounces). They are also available in 800 gram tins. Similar sized bags of wax beads are also available. With the beads, you simply fill an empty tin with these beads, and warm it using the heater. I have found that one of the very best waxes available is a brand called Cirepil. They make a very good assortment of waxes. Many professional esthesticians use this brand. Cirepil is a bit pricy compared to Gigi, and other waxes, but I feel that its worth it. One important thing to keep in mind though, is that a heater made for use with paraffin may not, or may not, use the same… [cont.]

A. Yes, of course. Most people put down where they previously worked on a resume, and for references, I would put down my boss at that job as one. I would have at least 3 or maybe 4 references and I would try to have someone at each job as a reference. I had a separate sheet of paper for my references typed up to go with a cover letter and resume. I didn't distinguish between personal and professional references on it. Some places will call you in after receiving your resume and have you fill out an application for employment. Some of those distinguish between professional and personal references. I would for sure put down a CEO as a professional reference firstly. I would not also, then, put him under a personal reference, though. That can… [cont.]

The wax will melt through it. follow up by washing as usual.2. on small amount of hardened wax scrape off material See above. or apply generous amount of vegetable oil to harden wax after scraping. wipe off remove excess oil the wash as usual. 3). SCRAP as usual put stain between 2 paper towels. Using iron on low setting place on paper towel. Wax ill melt and be absorbed by towels. Should I go see the Rockettes or go to Madame Tussauds Famouse Wax Museum?
Q. My boyfriend and I are going to NYC during the holidays for the 1st time for the weekend. Because of money we can only do one or the other. So should I go see the Rockettes or go the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum...they also have a 4D Polar Express show there. That place looks awesome but I've also always wanted to see the Rockettes! Help!

A. I would say to go see the Rockettes at Radio City. I think that the wax museum is way overpriced and just not that interesting. From Radio City, one block east is the iconic tree. Another block is Sak's Fifth Avenue, famous for it's window dressing, as is Lord & Taylor, about a fifteen minute walk downtown from there. Grand Central will have some interesting shops and exhibitions. And all those things after the Rockettes are free. There is also usually a large model train set-up in the Citicorp Building (also free) at 53rd and Lex, three blocks east of Fifth Ave.

Do they check to see if you are on business with Corporate rate?

A. It depends on the hotel's policy AND your company's policies. Check with your company first to see what the company policy says. If they say it's okay, then check with the hotel what their policy is. Good luck and happy travels!

What's an effective & safe detergent to use on a new black car? Suggestions on wax/protectants also welcome.
Q. I want to use something that I can get at Advance Auto, Auto Zone or a similar major auto products retailer. I know that you should not use synthetic or even natural sponges to wash a car, but rather soft products like 100% cotton wash mitts. But how should I wash my car to avoid getting the circular scratch-like marks you often see if you look closely at a black car's paint?
Asked by Job Seeker - Sat Sep 8 19:36:18 2007 - Maintenance & Repairs - 1 Answers - Comments
A. If you are afraid of getting swirl marks, than one idea is to take your vehicle to a professional detailer. One make sure you don't wash or wasx your car in the sun. That is a NO NO. Two MOTHERS is a good product and I know some other people prefer Meguiar's. Make sure you wash your car from the top down, and dont go backwards. Q. I want to use something that I can get at Advance Auto, Auto Zone or a similar major auto products retailer. I know that you should not use synthetic or even natural sponges to wash a car, but rather soft products like 100% cotton wash mitts.
